The Rajasthan Housing Board journalist flats scheme will offer 144 middle-income group B (MIG-B) flats in Jaipur’s Jagatpura area, as Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma prepares to launch four housing projects on Saturday.
The special registration scheme for journalists will cover flats in Sector 9 of Indira Gandhi Nagar, Jagatpura. The project will comprise a tower with a basement, stilt floor and nine upper floors.
Each flat will have a built-up area of 118.38 square metres and a super built-up area of 154.639 square metres. The estimated cost is ₹74.68 lakh per flat, according to officials.
The scheme is aimed at providing housing to eligible journalists in a developing part of Jaipur.
Rajasthan Housing Board journalist flats: Eligibility criteria
The special registration scheme is restricted to accredited, full-time journalists working in Rajasthan who depend on journalism for their livelihood.
Applicants must have an annual family income exceeding ₹3 lakh. Officials said allotments would be made through a lottery, with preferences based on income categories.
The eligibility conditions and lottery-based allocation are intended to govern access to the 144 flats. Further details on the registration process and application timeline were not provided in the announcement.
Jagatpura project offers access to key facilities
The proposed housing project is located in Jagatpura, an expanding residential area of Jaipur.
According to an official, nearby facilities include Khatipura railway station and JNU Hospital. The Regional Transport Office (RTO) is around 3 km from the project site.
The location and housing configuration form part of the board’s offering for journalists seeking homes in Jaipur.
Four Rajasthan Housing Board projects to be launched
Alongside the journalist housing scheme, Sharma will launch the second phase of Greenwood Horizon in Pratap Nagar, Jaipur.
The other two projects are located in Kishangarh and Bhiwadi. Their launch is expected to expand the Rajasthan Housing Board’s housing portfolio beyond the state capital.
Officials said the four projects reflect the board’s focus on planned housing and schemes designed for specific beneficiary groups across Rajasthan.
The launch brings together housing initiatives in Jaipur and two other locations, with the journalist scheme providing a dedicated registration option for eligible media professionals.
