Apple September quarter revenue in India reached an all-time high, with the company also recording its best fiscal year for upgraders in the country, CEO John Ternus said on Tuesday.
Speaking during Apple’s earnings call for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, which ended on September 26, Ternus said the company recorded September quarter revenue records across several major markets.
These included the Americas, Europe, Greater China and the rest of Asia-Pacific. Apple also reported all-time September quarter revenue records across developed and emerging markets.
The company recorded a September quarter high for iPhone upgraders worldwide, as well as in the US, mainland China and India.
iPhone revenue rises 17 per cent globally
Apple’s global iPhone revenue stood at USD 57.6 billion in the September quarter, registering 17 per cent year-on-year growth.
Ternus said the performance came despite supply constraints and foreign exchange headwinds.
Apple CFO Kevan Parekh said the active installed base of iPhones reached an all-time high. The company also recorded its best year for iPhone upgraders globally and across several markets, including the US, mainland China, India and Japan.
Parekh added that a recent Worldpanel survey identified iPhone among the top-selling models in the US, urban China, India, the UK, Germany, Australia and Japan.
India sees strong demand across Apple’s product ecosystem
Tarun Pathak, Research Director at Counterpoint Research, said India featured across several key indicators discussed during the earnings call.
These included record iPhone upgraders, all-time Mac revenue records, an all-time Services revenue record and the presence of iPhone models among the country’s top-selling smartphones.
Pathak said consumer aspirations remained a key driver of Apple’s growth in India. Easy financing, trade-ins, wider distribution and local manufacturing were helping convert consumer interest into purchases.
According to Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 17 was India’s top-shipped smartphone model during the third quarter. The MacBook Neo also recorded its highest-ever quarterly sales.
Pathak noted that Apple’s iPhone shipments declined year-on-year in India. However, its average selling price crossed USD 1,000 during the quarter, reaching an all-time high.
He said India was evolving from an iPhone growth market into a broader ecosystem market for Apple, with the shift expected to continue as its installed base expands.
Mac and Services revenue reach global records
Apple’s global Mac revenue rose 24 per cent year-on-year to USD 10.8 billion in the September quarter.
Parekh attributed the performance to demand for the MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro. Mac revenue recorded double-digit growth across developed and emerging markets, with all-time highs in India and Southeast Asia.
Services revenue also reached a record USD 31.6 billion, increasing 10 per cent year-on-year despite sequential foreign exchange headwinds of more than 1.5 percentage points.
Parekh said Apple recorded all-time Services revenue highs in most of the markets it tracks, including India and Latin America.
Apple Pay launches in India with Axis Bank
Apple has also expanded its financial services presence in India with the launch of Apple Pay in partnership with Axis Bank.
Ternus said the service would offer customers a secure payment option in the Indian market. Apple Pay is now available in more than 90 markets globally.
