Commuters shuttling between industrial hub Kanpur and the National Capital Region (NCR) are set to gain a dedicated overnight link. Indian Railways has formally approved a new daily Mail service operating between Kanpur Central and Anand Vihar Terminal (ANVT), bridging the 428-kilometer corridor during optimal late-evening hours.
Operating under Train Numbers 14153 and 14154, the Kanpur Central–Anand Vihar (T)–Kanpur Central Mail provides working professionals and regular travelers an end-of-day departure that arrives at the capital before the start of business hours.
Timings and Travel Duration
The schedule has been structured to facilitate overnight sleep journeys in both directions:
- Train No. 14153 (Kanpur to Anand Vihar): Leaves Kanpur Central daily at 20:40 hours (8:40 PM) and pulls into Anand Vihar Terminal at 04:50 hours (4:50 AM) the following morning. Total travel time is 8 hours and 10 minutes.
- Train No. 14154 (Anand Vihar to Kanpur): Departs Anand Vihar Terminal at 23:25 hours (11:25 PM), reaching Kanpur Central at 07:25 hours (7:25 AM) the next day. The return leg completes the journey in flat 8 hours.
Stoppages Across the NCR–UP Corridor
To serve inter-city travelers along the heavily traveled trunk route, the Mail service includes eight commercial halts across key industrial and educational nodes in Uttar Pradesh:
- Phaphund
- Etawah
- Tundla
- Hathras
- Aligarh
- Khurja
- Dadri
- Ghaziabad
Boosting Regional Mobility
The introduction of Train 14153/14154 relieves mounting passenger load along the NCR–Central UP rail arterial. Beyond connecting terminal points, intermediate stops like Aligarh, Etawah, and Ghaziabad gain a predictable, daily overnight option that bypasses daytime road congestion and peak-hour track bottlenecks.
