The PNB Greater Noida branch alleged fraud case has prompted several customers to approach the police over suspected unauthorised withdrawals worth crores of rupees from their accounts. The complaints concern Punjab National Bank’s Pi-1 branch in Greater Noida, where customers have reported significant discrepancies in their account balances.

Customers alleged that funds were withdrawn without their authorisation over an extended period. They also claimed the bank replaced the branch staff after the allegations surfaced and assured affected account holders that efforts were underway to resolve the matter.

Punjab National Bank has not issued an official statement on the allegations.

Customers report large discrepancies in account balances

One account holder, Sonu, claimed nearly ₹90 lakh was missing from his account. He said bank officials had explained the discrepancy and assured him that the money would be restored.

Another customer, Rahul, alleged that around ₹51 lakh had been withdrawn from his mother’s account without authorisation. He said the account was not linked to a mobile number, preventing the family from receiving timely transaction alerts.

Sonu Sagar alleged that his father’s account, which previously held around ₹88 lakh, showed a balance of only about ₹1,290 in a recent statement.

Sagar further claimed the suspected withdrawals had occurred over several years rather than being a recent development.

Complaint cites multiple withdrawals in June 2025

According to Sagar, several transactions were recorded in his father’s account on June 6, 2025. These included withdrawals of ₹25 lakh, ₹21 lakh, ₹20 lakh and ₹5 lakh, alongside other transactions.

The customers have filed police complaints seeking action over the alleged irregularities. The claims have not yet been established through an investigation.

One complainant said he approached the bank after discovering discrepancies but was asked to return after a day or two. He alleged that senior officials were unavailable when he revisited the branch and that normal banking operations had been disrupted.

Branch staff reportedly suspended after allegations

The complainant also alleged that branch manager Nisha Tirkey informed customers on October 26 that the entire branch staff had been suspended.

Customers claimed the bank had replaced the branch staff after the issue came to light. However, the bank has not publicly clarified the reported staff action or provided details about the alleged withdrawals.

Authorities are expected to examine the complaints and determine the extent of the suspected financial irregularities. The amounts cited by individual customers remain allegations, and the total amount involved has not been officially established.
