The state government has issued an order detailing sector-wise allocations and service targets for the initiative. The programme covers roads, transport, sewage, drinking water, solid waste management and environmental restoration.
Urban roads and transport have received the largest allocation of ₹60,000 crore. Sewage infrastructure will receive ₹50,000 crore, while drinking water projects have been allocated ₹30,350 crore.

Tamil Nadu plans waterbody restoration and green initiatives
Environmental works form another part of the programme. These include planting five crore saplings and restoring waterbodies, including the Adyar and Cooum rivers.
The initiative also provides funding for green space development and public health projects.
Other proposed measures include establishing animal sterilisation centres and installing artificial intelligence-enabled CCTV cameras.
TUFIDCO to oversee programme implementation
The Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TUFIDCO) will oversee implementation and financial management.
The government order brings multiple civic infrastructure and environmental projects under a common five-year investment framework. It also sets out the funding allocations and service delivery targets for the programme.
