Indian Railways has extended the Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi–Agra Cantt Express up to Mathura Junction. The decision provides direct connectivity between Jhansi, Agra, and Mathura.
The extension covers Train No. 11901 and Train No. 11902. Train 11901 will now terminate at Mathura instead of Agra Cantt. Similarly, Train 11902 will originate from Mathura for its return journey to Jhansi.
This move extends the total route length from 217 km to 270 km.
Revised Timings and Schedule
The extended service adds 53 km of travel time to the corridor.

Four New Halts on the Extended Route
The railway authority has added four commercial stoppages along the extended track section:
- Raja ki Mandi
- Runkuta
- Deen Dayal Dham
- Baad
These halts offer direct rail access for local passengers traveling to pilgrimage sites and district trade hubs. Commuters between Agra and Mathura gain a convenient morning and evening shuttle option.
The extended route directly links the Bundelkhand heartland with the Braj cultural region. The service bypasses highway bottlenecks and supports regular passenger transit across these major tourist and industrial centers.
