The Ghaziabad Development Authority plans 5 new flyovers to ease congestion. Consequently, commuters will enjoy smoother access to national highways. Specifically, GDA will collaborate with NHAI to build a green mobility corridor. This highspeed route connects Shaheed Sthal directly to NH-9. Therefore, heavy vehicles can bypass central city areas effortlessly.
Furthermore, Shaheed Sthal serves as a crucial transit hub. It integrates Metro, Namo Bharat, and the New Bus Adda. Additionally, officials will widen the two-lane Thakurdwara flyover to four lanes. This three-kilometer extension will stretch past the PWD Guest House to Bhatia Mor.
Double-Decker Flyover Planned at Lal Kuan
Meanwhile, authorities plan a double-decker elevated road over the Delhi-Meerut Expressway at Lal Kuan. Consequently, commuters heading to Noida and Aligarh will bypass heavy traffic bottleneck points.
+------------------------------------+------------------------------------+
| Project Corridor | Key Feature / Objective |
+------------------------------------+------------------------------------+
| Shaheed Sthal to NH-9 | Green Mobility Corridor |
| Thakurdwara Flyover | Widening to 4-Lanes (3 km) |
| Ghantaghar to Bhatia Mor | 2 km Elevated Road (Rs 200 Crore) |
| Lal Kuan to Dadri | High-Speed Elevated Connectivity |
| ALT Center to Shastri Nagar | Elevated Bypass (Rs 800 Crore) |
+------------------------------------+------------------------------------+
Furthermore, the state approved a two-kilometer elevated road from Ghantaghar to Bhatia Mor. This project costs Rs 200 crore under the Urban Challenge Fund. Additionally, GDA Vice Chairman Nand Kishore Kalal highlighted the 9.4-kilometer GT Road stretch. He noted that new elevated structures will reduce travel times and vehicular pollution significantly.
Elevated Corridors to Connect Rajnagar and Dadri
Additionally, GDA proposed new slip roads and elevated routes at Rajnagar Extension. A new Rs 80 crore slip road near Hindon Bridge will save drivers from long detours. Therefore, vehicles can merge directly onto the existing elevated road.
| Project Location | Estimated Cost | Main Objective |
| Hindon Bridge Slip Road | Rs 80 Crore | Bypass Hindon Bridge detour |
| ALT Center to Shastri Nagar | Rs 800 Crore | Bypass Hapur Chungi traffic |
| CM GRID Road Upgrade | Rs 308 Crore | Revamp 16 km of key city roads |
Furthermore, a Rs 800 crore elevated road from ALT Center to Shastri Nagar will bypass Hapur Chungi congestion. Another highspeed route will link Lal Kuan to Dadri in Greater Noida. Meanwhile, officials focus on redesigning Seth Mukundlal Chowk and Thakurdwara Tiraha. They will close illegal cuts, widen intersections, and create free left turns. Additionally, route marshals now manage traffic at eight major congestion points.
ITMS Expansion Strengthens Smart Traffic Management
Meanwhile, Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam expanded the Intelligent Traffic Management System across major junctions. AI cameras operate at 57 major intersections during the first phase. Furthermore, phase two adds 14 new junctions, including Lal Kuan, Crossings Republik, and Mohan Nagar. Consequently, cameras detect traffic violations instantly to enforce speed limits. Finally, authorities capped city speed limits at 40 km/h to reduce road accidents.
