The UER-I DPR preparation process has begun, with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) inviting bids from technical consultancy firms for the remaining stretches of Urban Extension Road-I (UER-I).

The assignment covers an indicative length of 50 km. It also includes a proposed connection to the 75-metre road and Upper Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram.

According to the request for proposals (RFP), the selected consultant will conduct feasibility studies, engineering investigations and prepare designs, cost estimates and project documents required for construction.

NHAI will act as the employer and executing agency for the consultancy. The selected firm must complete the assignment within the stipulated timeframe and meet the specified quality standards.

UER-I project scope includes existing and new road stretches

The consultancy will assess requirements for rehabilitation, upgrading and improvement of existing roads. It will also examine the need to construct new stretches wherever necessary.

The scope extends beyond preparing a preliminary road alignment. It includes engineering assessments and project documentation to determine the requirements for developing the identified stretches.

The feasibility study will also identify the preferred mode of implementation for the civil works.

NHAI consultant to coordinate on railway crossings

Where railway level crossings fall within the project stretches, the selected firm will coordinate with consultants engaged for railway overbridges (ROBs) and railway underbridges (RUBs).

The coordination will cover finalisation of road alignments and the configuration of the proposed structures.

The DPR will provide the technical and cost assessments needed to take the remaining UER-I stretches and the proposed Gurugram connectivity link towards implementation.
