Omnichannel fine jewellery brand CaratLane is accelerating its retail presence nationwide. The company has revealed a roadmap to open between five and seven new outlets across Eastern India over the upcoming months, alongside a broader target of launching 40 to 50 stores across India in FY27.

Currently, the brand operates a robust national network comprising over 388 stores, with 69 of those located in the eastern region. This expansion will be fueled by targeted investments in retail infrastructure, omnichannel customer features, and fresh product lines.

Locally in West Bengal—where the brand already manages 31 stores spanning 11 cities—the goal is to push the footprint past 35 outlets. Marking a milestone in this regional drive, CaratLane has officially inaugurated a sprawling three-story flagship outlet in Gariahat, one of Kolkata’s premier commercial and shopping districts. Designed to blend modern aesthetics with localized cultural elements, the store showcases everyday wear, gifting selections, and special occasion pieces.

Leadership Insights

Emphasizing the strategic importance of the local market, Saumen Bhaumik, Managing Director of CaratLane, stated:

“Kolkata is a key market for CaratLane, driven by strong cultural roots and an appetite for contemporary design. Opening our Gariahat flagship, which thoughtfully incorporates regional flavours into its design and decor, marks an important milestone as we scale to over 35 stores in West Bengal.”

Strong Financial Momentum and Strategic Campaigns

The retail push follows stellar financial performance, with CaratLane reporting a 42% year-on-year growth in the first quarter of FY27 alongside a 28% expansion in its active buyer base.

To sustain this consumer momentum, the brand has introduced fresh product lines, including the Kaashika and Polki collections fronted by brand ambassador Yami Gautam Dhar. Additionally, CaratLane is actively engaging younger demographic segments through its contemporary 9kt gold sub-brand, Shaya, utilizing collaborations with actor Ashlesha Thakur to widen its market appeal.
