The Railway Board will soon notify the Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper connecting SMVT Bengaluru with Mumbai CSMT. Consequently, Indian Railways plans to flag off the high-speed overnight service later this month. This upcoming train fulfills a three-decade passenger demand for a faster rail corridor between the two economic hubs.
Service cuts travel time to less than 16 hours
Furthermore, the Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper will operate six days a week in both directions. The service will not run from Bengaluru on Mondays, while the return trip will pause on Tuesdays.
Currently, the Udyan Express takes 24 hours to cover the distance between both cities. However, the new sleeper express will complete the journey in under 16 hours.

Meanwhile, Indian Railways is expanding additional premium services across Karnataka.
