Any land acquisition in Hyderabad in the name of high-speed rail at present is illegal, said Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, issuing an official clarification on Saturday following claims and allegations. Specifically, Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy confirmed that the Centre has not submitted any land requisitions to state governments. Furthermore, he emphasized that any land acquisition carried out under the project name remains entirely unauthorized.

Alignment studies underway for three key bullet train corridors

The Railway Ministry is currently conducting detailed alignment studies for three major high-speed corridors. These proposed routes will connect Hyderabad with major economic hubs in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Pune.

Consequently, official alignment details will reach respective state governments and farmers only after survey completion. Meanwhile, local state acquisition drives had triggered widespread farmer protests across the outskirts of Hyderabad.

Additionally, the indigenous Kavach 4.0 protection system now covers 2,633 route kilometres across high-density routes.
