Nvidia investment in Simplismart forms part of a $14 million Series B funding round for the Bengaluru-based artificial intelligence startup, according to a TechCrunch report.

The round was led by Dallas Venture Capital, with participation from Accel, Shastra VC and Micromax. The investment values the four-year-old company at around $100 million, including the fresh capital, the report said.

Founded in 2022, Simplismart develops software that helps enterprises deploy and operate AI models more efficiently. Its platform aims to improve performance, response times and computing costs without requiring significant additional hardware investments.

Simplismart targets enterprise AI infrastructure costs

The startup was founded by Amritanshu Jain, a former Oracle engineer, and Devansh Ghatak, a former Google engineer.

Its software operates between AI models and the underlying computing infrastructure. It automatically adjusts deployment settings according to customer requirements.

The platform helps businesses manage model response times, processing capacity and computing resource consumption. This allows enterprises to improve the utilisation of their existing graphics processing units (GPUs).

The investment comes as companies increase spending on GPUs to support AI applications. At the same time, enterprises are seeking ways to improve infrastructure efficiency and control operating costs.

Jain said businesses are not necessarily looking for the fastest or cheapest AI inference solutions. Instead, they need systems that balance speed, performance and cost according to specific use cases.

Platform supports cloud and on-premises deployment

Simplismart allows enterprises to deploy and manage AI models through its platform or within existing cloud and on-premises environments.

Its offerings include model fine-tuning, automatic scaling of computing resources and performance monitoring.

The company claims its software helped AI video-generation platform InVideo reduce GPU serving costs by 56 per cent.

Its customers also include AI video companies HeyGen and Higgsfield, along with enterprise AI startup Ema.

Indian cloud provider Yotta uses Simplismart’s technology to power the serverless AI inference service on its Shakti Studio platform.

Revenue run rate grows 14-fold

Simplismart said its annualised revenue run rate increased 14-fold over the six months preceding the report, driven by higher customer usage.

More than half of the company’s revenue currently comes from the United States, despite India accounting for a larger share of its customer base.

The latest funding will support the startup as demand grows for software that helps enterprises manage AI deployment and infrastructure costs.
