Big Boost for UP Real Estate: 3,090 Units Approved

The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has approved 12 new real estate developments spanning six key districts, unlocking a total estimated investment of ₹1,663.85 crore. Cleared during the 214th Authority Meeting chaired by UP RERA Chairman Shri Sanjay Bhoosreddy, the decision paves the way for 3,090 new residential, commercial, and mixed-use units across the state.

The approval is set to meet growing urban housing demand, stimulate localized construction activity, and create significant employment across allied industries like building materials, engineering, and logistics.

District Wise Breakdown: Lucknow & Ghaziabad Lead Investments

  • Lucknow: Emerging as the top recipient, the state capital secured four approved projects (two residential, one commercial, and one mixed-use) involving ₹609.35 crore in capital and delivering 1,972 units.
  • Ghaziabad: Ranked second in total capital outlay, receiving approvals for three residential developments backed by an estimated investment of ₹605.06 crore to construct 574 housing units.
  • Kanpur: Cleared a single large residential development attracting an estimated outlay of ₹201.72 crore for 158 units.
  • Hapur: Approved two residential ventures worth ₹123.45 crore, which will deliver 192 residential spaces.
  • Ayodhya: Secured one residential development project with an investment of ₹72.61 crore to build 85 units.
  • Prayagraj: Approved one residential project involving an estimated cost of ₹51.66 crore, adding 109 units to the local market.

Focus on Timely Delivery and Buyer Protection

While granting registrations, the regulatory body emphasized strict compliance with statutory rules, delivery schedules, and homebuyer protections under the RERA framework. The authority reiterated that real estate developments must strictly adhere to promised timelines to maintain market trust.

Commenting on the project approvals, UP RERA Chairman Shri Sanjay Bhoosreddy stated, “The Authority is continuously working for the planned and transparent development of the real estate sector in the state. Along with timely approval of projects, monitoring them and ensuring compliance with rules are also among the Authority’s priorities. The new projects will expand residential and commercial facilities in the state and boost construction activities. UP RERA will continue to work according to the provisions of the RERA Act and remains committed to protecting the interests of homebuyers and maintaining a trustworthy environment in the real estate sector.”
