Union Ministers V. Somanna and Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar today laid the foundation stone for a four-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB). The bridge spans between Guntur and Nambur railway stations.
The Ministry of Railways is funding the entire ₹108-crore project cost. Construction work will begin shortly.
The 668-metre bridge will directly replace Level Crossing (LC) Gate No. 3 on the busy Guntur-Krishna Canal railway section. It connects Bus Stand Road directly with Gorantla Village near Guntur’s Inner Ring Road. The project requires 2.9 acres of land.
